The most common analogy we see with resistance piers is stilts. Resistance (or push) piers essentially put your foundation on stilts that are supported usually 20 to 40 ft into the ground into solid rock or load bearing strata.
We install the pier using a hydraulic or electric drive ram which looks like a hydraulic log splitter. Installation can be done from the inside or outside of the foundation and can take as little as a day.
We proudly install the Atlas Resistance Pier, a manufactured, two-stage product designed specifically to produce structural support strength. First, the Pier Pipe is driven to a firm bearing stratum; then the lift equipment is combined with a manifold system to lift the structure.
The pier procedure provides measured support strength. The piers are spaced at adequate centers where each pier is driven to a suitable stratum and then tested to a force greater than required to lift the structure. This procedure effectively load tests each pier prior to lift and provides a measured Factor of Safety on each pier at lift.
